Georgia-Pacific's Project & Engineering Group is seeking a remote based Project Manager to join our Regional Projects Teams. The Regional Project teams focus is on development and delivery of projects typically ranging from $500k - $10 million. This position is expected to manage projects within the South or East region of the United States. This position is a remote position however frequent travel will be required therefore preferred candidates should reside within close proximity to an airport and/or driving distance to sites supported.

Major Southern and Eastern Sites are in the following locations:

- Muskogee, OK

- Monticello, MS

- New Augusta, MS

- Naheola, AL

- Perdue Hill, AL

- Memphis, TN

- Brunswick, GA

- Cedar Springs, GA

- Savannah, GA

- Palatka, FL

Other locations considered for our Dixie Plant support:

- Fort Smith, AR

- Jackson, MS

- Bowling Green, KY

- Lexington, KY

- Darlington, SC


Our Team

The Project & Engineering team works across the United States working with our facilities on project development and execution. We are project professionals focused on a quality delivery of prioritized projects. We partner with our mills/plants/businesses as "one team, one vision, one result".

What You Will Do

* Interface with Project Management Organization (PMO), Businesses and Plant Leadership to develop and deliver small projects (up to $5M) to reduce cost, increase capacity, improve safety, and sustain operations

* Provide Project Leadership to 10-20 projects at a time that are in various phases of the project work process and various/multiple locations in the appropriate Region

* Promote team culture that is focused on meeting commitments while maintaining a safety excellence

* Empower project team members to understand and accept their accountabilities by ensuring project delivery expectations are clearly defined to meet the project objectives.

* Provide leadership to remove project obstacles by working with, and through, others.

* Facilitate interface between design-build partners and internal GP partners (mill/business)

* Provide oversight for project status (cost, schedule, risk), GP procedure equipment and services, and project change management

* Ensure coordination with facilities for integrating project startup (Day 1 Readiness)

* Drive a continuous improvement mindset using lean construction principles

* Manage portfolio of project metrics and benchmarks to attain targets/improvement



Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* 3 or more years of experience working within a manufacturing or military environment

* 3 or more years of experience of project and/or construction management of industrial / manufacturing construction projects

* Experience with project and construction management systems and concepts

* Able to travel regionally at least 50%-75% of the time (Project Dependent Fluctuates)



What Will Put You Ahead

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Construction Management

* Project Management or Construction Management Certification

* Experience with LEAN project delivery methodologies

* Industry experience within pulp, paper and building products industry.

* Experience with brownfield, revamp and turnaround construction

* Experience in regional regulations and contractors.

* Experience Autodesk Engineering Products (BUILD (ACC), Recap, Revit, Plant3D, AutoCAD)

* 10 or more years of experience working within a manufacturing environment.

* 3 or more years of experience in design-build, Integrated Project Delivery, or similar, project execution


For this role, we anticipate paying $110k - $160k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
