Summary:

Support IT project activities pertaining to requirements, design, implementation and administration of application product and services. The Business Analyst will provide support to the JD Edwards Enterprise One ERP System (E1) projects and maintenance activities. Become knowledgeable of the business processes within his/her area of responsibility and confidently facilitate business requirements sessions. Translate the business requirements into E1 functional specifications in order to work with the E1 development team to generate design specifications based on the requirements and successfully development solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply high-level understanding of the organization's business systems and industry requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and IT to create and document solution designs, focusing on process analysis and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions related to current and future business environments.
  • Assist with daily operations and provide general administrative support to the assigned IT organization.
  • Prepare charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submit recommendations for solutions.
  • Create process change by integrating new processes with existing processes and communicate the changes to Business Systems team impacted.
  • As appropriate, may participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of IT strategies and plans.
  • Manages, coordinates, directs, and integrates the company's IT processes, services, and applications for the purpose of IT business delivery.
  • Responsible for working closely with support teams to ensure the design, implementation, and administration of the company's IT initiatives.
  • Propose and implement effective solutions based on business requirements while analyzing an evaluating the impact of current processes/business.
  • Partner with technical solution providers to ensure optimal delivery.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Four (4) year degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent experience

Experience: 3+ years

  • 3+ years working in a Business Analyst capacity within a JD Edwards manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Proven track record of success with IT in a manufacturing and distribution environment for multiple sites, multiple business units and specifically in areas and technologies of responsibility using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne including:
    • General Ledger
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Credit
    • Fixed Assets
    • Cost Accounting
    • Job Costing
    • Commissions
    • Vertex experience is a plus
  • Application configuration experience around GL and Chart of Accounts.
  • Experience working with business owners and employees to help drive improvements in business performance.
  • CPIM Certification Preferred

Essential duties:

  • Generates test scripts to validate business requirements for the purpose of Unit and Integrated testing.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a project-oriented environment and provide work effort estimates to the IT Manager for analytical tasks including providing timely updates to the IT Manager regarding status on assigned tasks.
  • Works with business staff to develop understanding of the varied business needs supported by the E1 system; responsible for determining how changing business needs will affect the E1 system; understands the overall (integrated) role of the system and provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the system.
  • Ensures current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and/or performs testing of system modifications, and develops, provides, or coordinates system training, educational tools and materials; may be involved with the IT Manager regarding planning/scheduling and sources allocation.
  • Build effective relationships with business staff to develop a cooperative and cohesive E1 support process; acts as a liaison with E1 development team, E1 consultants and/or E1 IT Manager to ensure the business needs are being addressed.
  • Provides continued E1 support to the business community resolving production related issues.

Physical demands:

Occasional lifting and moving of less than 35 lbs.

Must possess the ability to work under stress of time critical objectives of medium to high complexity with limited supervision.

Work environment:

Primarily an office environment; however, it will be necessary to spend time in the manufacturing facilities working with the user community.

Requires overtime or adjusted schedules during major projects.

May require travel.
