About the Role

Are you eager to learn and can adapt quickly to change? Then apply for this dynamic entry-level position supporting the high-volume North American Excess & Surplus Property group. You will be responsible for processing policy transactions and providing administrative, technical & analytical assistance to underwriters and wholesale brokers nationwide. Your performance and... contributions will have a direct impact on the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the underwriting team.
* Collaborate internally with underwriting, accounting, and claims teams to investigate open issues and deliver timely customer service to external clients.
* Conduct preliminary analysis on renewal deals prior to underwriter review.
* Draft and issue policies & endorsements, including validating premium calculations and updating internal systems.
* Perform assigned tasks according to standard operating procedures and established deadlines, delegating to offshore Operations teams when possible.
* Review account data for completeness and accuracy, correcting errors and notifying manager of any trending inconsistencies.
* Generate and maintain electronic account records and documents, utilizing compliant systems, tools, and templates.
* Attend meetings, workshops, and training to learn processes, guidelines, and skills needed to support underwriting team. Occasional (<5%) travel may be requested.
* Participate on special projects, as assigned.

About the Team

North America E&S Property Business Services is a knowledgeable and dedicated team who operationally supports Underwriters in providing non-admitted insurance coverage and capacity for hard-to-place risks. We handle a large volume of accounts and coordinate with wholesale brokers nationwide to service insurance policies for a wide range of occupancies across multiple industries.

About You

Essentials
* Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
* 1-2 years of relevant experience is a plus.
* Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software.
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships in a global environment.
* Outstanding attention to detail to identify errors and discrepancies while working with multiple sources of information.
* Ability to organize, evaluate, and prioritize personal workload while managing multiple accounts.
* Comfortable working both independently and within a group, as well as in a matrix environment.

Nice to Have
* Familiarity with commercial property insurance principles and practices is a plus.
* Ability to adapt to frequent technical and operational improvements.
* Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, clerical procedures, and general economic & accounting principles.

The position will be located in our Kansas City, MO office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
