EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

TITLE: Lifeguard - Seasonal Summer

DATE POSTED: January 15, 2024

STARTING WAGE: $15.25 / per hour

HOURS AND SCHEDULE: 20-35 hours/week

CLOSING DATE: The position is open until filled.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Lifeguards must be a minimum 16 years of age or 15 years of age with a valid work permit. Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. Ensure the safety of pool patrons and the efficient operation of the pool. Lifeguards report directly to the Pool Manager.

EXPECTATIONS
* Consistently prevent accidents, enforce safety rules, respond appropriately to emergencies, and work cooperatively in a team.
* Work with all members of the Villa Park Aquatic Team to establish and maintain a positive TEAM environment maintaining participant safety in, on and around the water.
* Communicate effectively with and demonstrate professionalism to patrons, Aquatic Team members, management and Village administration.
* Consistently enforce all pool rules and regulations on and off duty, work cooperatively in a team and maintain crowd control in the event of an emergency when appropriate.
* Participate in weekly professional in-service training.
* Teach or assist with Learn to Swim lessons.
* Make a reasonable effort to independently solve problems, referring problems beyond your comfort to the Pool Manager.
* Maintain all equipment necessary for the successful operation of the pool.
* Perform other pool duties as requested by the Pool Manager and Village Administration.
