Ramboll is looking for a drinking water practice leader to develop and implement strategies for growth of Ramboll's drinking water business in the Americas. As a practice leader, you will need to understand client organizations and processes, develop and maintain consistent relationships at all organizational levels, and work to develop water opportunities for Ramboll.

As our new Drinking Water Practice Leader, you will be part of a team dedicated to working with public and private clients to deliver a wide range of water related projects, including drinking water treatment, water supply development, water reuse and water infrastructure, from master planning and treatability through design and construction of one-water solutions.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Contribute to the development of a Water Market Strategy that delivers leading-edge technology and sustainable solutions for our clients while also actively diversifying and expanding our client base.
  • Lead the development of growth strategies for Ramboll's drinking water market, addressing new and future regulations, advanced and developing technologies and delivery of sustainable solutions for existing and new clients.
  • Develop account plans and client strategies and track activity via Ramboll's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects, for multiple local clients, of medium to large sizes with a moderate to complex nature.
  • Manage teams, budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Contribute and lead teams that prepare proposals and interview materials and negotiate contracts with clients after selection.
  • Identify teaming partners and sub-consultants for services on projects.
  • Participate in professional associations, including presentation of technical papers and participation in committee within local or national professional societies of strategic importance.
  • Identify needs for recruitment of new employees and participates in selection process.
  • Travel as needed for Client interactions and Ramboll team engagement.

Your starting point for constant growth:

  • Progressive experience in water system master planning, water resource development, water treatment and water quality, and water infrastructure for public and private sector water systems.
  • Expertise in drinking water quality and advanced water treatment processes is essential.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics, and a proven history leading project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations and supporting project teams.
  • Demonstrated success with client service and business development with strong existing client relationships.
  • Attributes that include excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem solving, and a strong organizational approach.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that result in the creation and procurement of new and repeat consulting work.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.

Ideally, the candidate will have:

  • Bachelor and Master of Science degree in in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • More than 15 to 20 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering.
  • Experience with drinking water quality issues, such as PFAS, lead and copper corrosion, disinfection byproducts, algal toxins.
  • Experience with advanced treatment systems including membranes, ion exchange and advanced oxidation processes.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing diverse and remote teams.
