We are looking to hire a reliable and safety-minded Shipping Supervisor to play key role coordinating daily activities within our shipping department. This will include scheduling, monitoring, and evaluating department workflow, and implementing process changes as needed to maximize efficiency and productivity. As a Shipping Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing all supervisory tasks and functions associated with the shipping department to ensure a high level of performance in accordance with department procedures. This will involve reviewing and approving training documents, material transfers, and production inventory, as well as coordinating product handling and storage and purchasing supplies. Moreover, you will train new employees and assist the Shipping Manager by developing and implementing department training programs.

Shipping Supervisor - Inventory Control Management (Logistics / Warehouse)

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

    Overseeing the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of department equipment
  • Identifying and troubleshooting incorrect performance of department equipment and insuring correction to minimize department downtime and safe operation
  • Ensuring that product and/or shipping supplies are prepared, transported, and stored according to department specifications
  • Maintaining shipping employee records
  • Ensuring all training and training records comply with applicable standards/requirements as well as evaluating the effectiveness of all training
  • Assisting with the development, modification, documentation and implementation of departmental procedures in accordance with standards set forth in the Quality Manual, GEN, Quality Procedures such as GMP and GDP, Good Housekeeping, and departmental compliance in general
  • Monitoring and evaluating internal and external customer non-conformance issues, determining root cause and assisting Manager with process change and training required when needed
  • Ensuring that all department employees follow applicable OSHA regulations with respect to chemical hazards, blood-borne pathogen, forklift safety, etc.
  • Reporting any/all unsafe work conditions/activities to the department manager
  • Communicating with managers and supervisors on customer support related issues, compliance issues, department process issues, etc.
  • Handing all finished goods inventory management according to applicable procedures and time lines
  • Ensuring that department records are legible and stored according to procedure
  • Following any/all applicable company procedures and/or policies

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • High School Degree or General Education Degree (GED), required; 1-year certificate from college or technical school; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Forklift Certification
  • Solid computer and typing skills
  • Proficiency with navigating Windows PC software, including basic knowledge of MS Office products
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and move and maneuver carts to transport product in and out of coolers when needed
