Our Team

Georgia-Pacific's Corporate Capabilities IT team is seeking a Business Architect. This is an internal role reporting to the VP of Corporate Capabilities IT and is responsible for developing strategic technology roadmaps in partnership with leadership in Compliance & Ethics and Human Resources. This position is an integral part of Capabilities IT commitment to being a trusted partner delivering high-quality IT services that drive superior business outcomes for Georgia-Pacific.

What You Will Do

Supervisor:

  • Mentor and coach team for talent development. Give clear and frequent feedback.
  • Enhance team's knowledge and skills.
  • Prioritize work based on criticality and value.
  • Optimize staffing based on comparative advantage to maximize value delivery.
  • Leading by example. Assist with tasks and work as servant leader to ensure success.

Business Architect:

  • Partner with key stakeholders in Human Resources and Compliance & Ethics to discuss their current and future needs, challenges, opportunities, and to share your insights on the technology trends and disruptions that may affect their domains and help them to achieve their priorities.
  • Maintain the strategic technology roadmaps that you have created, ensuring that they reflect the vision, goals, initiatives, and timelines for delivering technology solutions that enable the business capabilities and outcomes.
  • Collaborate across IT leaders, other architects, and delivery teams to align and integrate your technology roadmaps with the business and IT strategies, plans, and priorities, and to obtain guidance on the architecture, design, and implementation of the technology solutions.
  • Facilitate and influence the decision-making process across the business and IT domains using economic thinking, data, insights, and trade-offs analysis.
  • Apply the Principle Based Management (PBM) Five Dimensions framework to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business priorities and comprehensive.
  • Communicate and present the technology roadmaps and solutions to various audiences, including senior executives, business partners, IT teams, and external vendors, using clear, concise, and compelling language and visuals.
  • Monitor and measure the performance and value of your technology portfolio, and provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement, using relevant metrics and indicators


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least 3 years' experience leading a team of IT professionals in support of multiple business-critical systems.
  • Ability to comprehend business objectives and translate them into effective technology roadmaps and strategies, particularly in large, complex work environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Proficiency at forming metrics and delivering useful reporting to influence business strategies.
  • Experience in agile and waterfall methodologies, and familiarity with various IT domains, such as cloud, data, security, infrastructure, and applications.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Financial planning and analysis related to technology and total cost of ownership modeling.
  • Experience with Planview or other Resource Management/Portfolio Management technologies.
  • Experience with supporting technology in a manufacturing setting.
