The Assistant Director role provides leadership and oversight for newly admitted, incoming, and newly arriving international students. Beyond technical responsibilities (processing admissions documents, verification of lawful presence, home base orientation, and advisement), the assistant director will supervise one ISA (incoming international student advisor), three graduate assistants, and multiple V.I.S.A leaders. The Role will be responsible for creating and establishing essential support services for new international students with respect to both immigration compliance as well as retention and integration programming.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
Supervise and manage the processing of international student admissions documents (I-20s and DS-2019s) in supervision of Senior EPS position.
Sits on the ISSS leadership team to provide input, feedback, and guidance for strategic direction and management of the office.
Provides oversight and leadership in the implementation of international student orientation. Liaises with the office of student orientation and family engagement (SOFE). Recruits, trains, and supervises V.I.S.A. leaders, and graduate assistants.
Manages the Verification of Lawful Presence Process (VOLP) for all non- U.S. Citizens and Permanent
Residents admitted to the University.
Liaises with Registrar, Admissions, Graduate School, and Perimeter Colleges.
Remains abreast of federal, state, and USG regulatory framework and informs/trains colleagues as necessary
Creates and maintains communication plans and public facing messaging for newly admitted/arriving international students.
Provides data and reports as needed in reference to incoming international students.
Supports office events and initiatives, including International Education Week, Spring International Festival, ISAC
Student programs, immigration programming, etc.

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of supervisory/management experience; or Bachelor's degree and one year of related Designated School Official (DSO) experience in International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Significant experience with employment based immigration
