Description

The Manager - Tax will report to the Controller and be primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with the Company's various tax obligations. This will include the identification of tax reporting requirements in various jurisdictions in which the Company does business, as well as the preparation and filing of various tax returns with the appropriate jurisdictions in a timely manner. The Manager - Tax will also be primarily responsible for the preparation of the Company's tax provision in accordance with Accounting Standards Codification 740 for inclusion in the Company's financial statements. Furthermore, the Manager - Tax will provide guidance and expertise with respect to structuring various transactions that the Company may enter into, from time to time, as well as planning and effecting the Company's affairs in a manner which will minimize tax liability and address tax risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and file the Company's various tax returns for its tax obligations, both direct and indirect.
  • Conduct studies to determine the appropriate treatment of transactions in tax returns.
  • Prepare the Company's income tax provision in connection with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Budget and forecast the Company's effective tax rate and tax liability over time.
  • Provide guidance and insight regarding the structuring of various transactions, including potential tax and compliance issues which may arise.
  • Remain current on new and emerging tax legislation from various jurisdictions in which it does business and provide advice to the Company regarding compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the external auditors with respect to tax matters.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of internal controls over the Company's tax process.
  • Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or replace current manual processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects.

  • Strong US Federal Tax background.
  • Ability to research, explain, opine, and conclude on the tax treatment complex transactions.
  • Technical acumen that enables the candidate to provide value-add support to other finance functions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • BS or BA in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA License
  • Five years of relevant experience

Candidates with the following education and experience will be given preference, but are not required:

  • MS in Taxation
  • Big 4 experience

OTHER SKILLS

A successful candidate will have the following skills.

  • A general understanding of the United States Internal Revenue Code
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office applications
