Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Field work, site investigation and characterization, including sediment, soil, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight;
  • Assist with development of geologic models using EVS or Leapfrog to support site conceptualization, plume visualization, and groundwater modeling using MODFLOW;
  • Data analysis/visualization of site investigation data including the preparation of tables, maps, and figures using both industry-standard and cutting-edge applications;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
  • Providing contamination assessment services, such as designing and implementing sampling plans, and pilot test programs;
  • Assessment of the water risks and vulnerability, identifying and prioritizing social, environmental, economic, strategic, and operational water risks. Establishing water risk management and a scenario planning tools
  • Supporting fate and transport modeling, natural attenuation evaluations and risk assessment;
  • Conducting remedy evaluation, cost estimating, and supporting remedial implementation;
  • Preparation of written documents such as proposals, workplans and investigative reports; and
  • Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities.
  • Training: This position requires 40-hour OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 25%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 25%
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or any related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or any related field. (preferred)
  • Fundamentals of Geology (FG) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Project experience involving site investigation, data analysis, surface water and groundwater flow modeling, and reaction transport modeling. (preferred)
  • Project experience in conducting data analysis, mapping of water policies, defining water strategy framework that meets operational and regulatory needs and objectives.
  • Project experience involving soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling, drilling, soil/rock core logging, groundwater monitoring well installation. (preferred)
  • Internship(s), co-op position, or prior work experience relevant to the position. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
