Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Data & Insights Management Leader for our Packaging & Cellulose (P&C) business segment. Value Creation: This position will help establish the P&C segment's new Data Management capability by developing the Data and Insights team and related competencies. The right candidate has a passion for creating actionable insights from data, a strategic mindset to push boundaries and drive long-term planning efforts, and economic thinking to drive valuation and prioritization of opportunities. This position will form a solid partnership with business leadership, Data Governance, IT, and others to drive optimization of existing data and analytics and develop the strategic roadmap for future, desired analytics across P&C businesses. Successful candidates will have a track record of building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, communicating effectively with leadership, working with data and analytics to support business decision-making, guiding and teaching team members, and executing cross-capability initiatives.

Location: This role is based at our Corporate HQ in Downtown Atlanta, GA. It has the flexibility to work remotely, with the expectation of a hybrid schedule that consists of being in the office more than not. This is a visible role and fostering relationships and collaborating with teams across the company will be key to your success. In this role, the Data & Insights Leader will report to the Senior Director of Planning & Analysis for our Packaging & Cellulose segment.

What You Will Do

  • Help establish the Data and Insights Management capability to give the P&C businesses a knowledgeable and strategic voice to improve the quality, effectiveness, and speed to value of data and insights
  • Develop a fundamental understanding of each business and current reporting/analytics; use this knowledge to connect to the needs for business data and insights and the related decision-making implications
  • Create a catalog of existing reporting, metrics, and analytics for each business
  • Explore, identify, and document future-state, desired analytical outcomes and required data for each business that support achieving the business vision
  • Drive development and management of a strategic roadmap to deliver desired analytical outcomes for each applicable P&C business; partner with IT to determine the most efficient and effective technology path to execute it.
  • Identify optimization opportunities to help bridge current state to the strategic roadmap and future outcomes
  • Provide sound strategic and economic thought leadership to guide valuation and prioritization of opportunities; in partnership with IT, leverage effective tools and processes to eliminate waste and enable a faster path to new analytical capabilities.
  • Engage in respectful challenge and discussion with business leadership, data owners, and the IT team to drive timely and effective decision making; collaborate with capabilities such as accounting, supply chain, finance.
  • Think and act like the decision maker to anticipate business needs, provide recommendations, and continuously improve knowledge processes
  • Drive change, be inquisitive, and push boundaries while demonstrating humility
  • Attract, develop, motivate, and lead Data and Insights talent to help achieve team objectives and business goals. Hold team members and others accountable for deliverables.
  • Advance the Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Values
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Career experience in a finance, strategy, supply chain, data insights or related role(s) that demonstrates an understanding of analysis and business intelligence, key business drivers, meaningful metrics, and data literacy
  • You are a strong economic and strategic thinker, and have the confidence and analytical capability to frame and evaluate complex problems, develop a point of view, and provide decision support
  • You are transformation focused and contribution motivated; you embrace change and seek to bridge gaps between partners; you are a driver of company initiatives
  • You communicate well across a matrix delivery model; you keep stakeholders informed and engaged; you build trusted and respected relationships
  • Systems and Tools savvy: You are fluent in MS Office Suite / Office 365 and you have experience navigating systems and data platforms

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business, Data Analytics or related field
  • Experience formulating strategies and roadmaps to advance data and analytics initiatives
  • Experience with technical data modeling, data management, and architectural concepts
  • Experience in the Manufacturing sector
  • Leadership, supervision, or hands on talent development of a team of professionals
