Job Description:
Our IS4S Wash DC location is seeking to hire an experienced Systems Engineer to support a Navy SSP in variety of large government-funded projects primarily related to Strategic Systems and NWS.  We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, a collaborative leader and open to finding new ways to solve challenging program problems. IN addition to outstanding program support, we are focused on developing modular open systems that enable rapid prototyping and deployment of real-world systems.


Key Responsibilities:
      1.  
  • Develop and execute NWS Program Plans to establish and track objectives throughout the ESS systems lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain customer awareness to support ESS system design, development, and testing.
  • Develop plans to ensure effective testing and diagnosing of ESS system components.
  • Explore and report potential failures and system outages, their effects, and criticality.
  • Generate Critical Items Lists (CIL) to prioritize and manage critical SSP 31/32 issues affecting program improvement.
  • Support Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Actions and activities to identify, analyze, and resolve CR’s/gaps in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with industry and govt and SETA engineering teams to implement change into ESS integration and development processes.
  • Support analyses to evaluate system performance under different operational conditions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to quality and reliability and reduce maintenance requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in SSP procedures and NWS ESS engineering.
Qualifications:
      1.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in NWS within the defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering and SSP procedures
  • Proficiency in developing and executing SP30 Program Plans.
  • Experience in knowing the requirements for NWS and ESS systems at the SWF’s.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance required.
 

Basic Qualifications:
Working Knowledge expectation -
  • Navy SSP experience and relevant Mil-STD-xxx knowledge.
  • Master’s degree in Business or a related field with 4 years of experience in developing and executing product support strategies.
  • Ability to author documents, or modify a template, and create sets of synchronized plans or updated sets relevant to the SP30 mission.
  • Knowledge applying product support and sustainment to fielded systems
  • Work effectively with engineering teams, field operations, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to support SP specific acquisition development.
  • Teamwork focused on conducting studies, engineering and technical projects, or problem resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Expert level of familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team
  • Active SECRET security clearance

Desired Experience:
  • Experience in DoD weapons development or integration
  • Development of NWS SP SWF Technical Orders
  • Strategic systems knowledge and experience
  • Prior military service
