Job Brief

Responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources in a manufacturing environment. You will work hand in hand with the HR Director for IS Manufacturing and the site leadership teams to develop and implement company policy and strategies.

*This position is located in Wolf Lake, Illinois*

What You'll Do

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources in a manufacturing environment. You will work hand in hand with the HR Director for IS Manufacturing and the site leadership teams to develop and implement company policy and strategies which enable delivering positive business and financial results. Other duties include:

  • Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
  • Lives and fosters the Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) values
  • Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values
  • Responsible for providing Human Resource leadership, direction and coaching to the site leadership teams
  • Responsible for the process of weekly payroll entry for all plant employees including time adjustments and corrections as needed.
  • Develop effective working relationships while influencing and challenging the site management teams on their personal style and the development and delivery of their people plans in support of business and HR strategies.
  • Works with the Talent Acquisition Team as well as plant management with internal and external recruitment efforts, including requisition approvals, internal postings, external recruiting, interviewing and selection of employees
  • Implement Affirmative Action program to ensure fair and equal employment opportunities for all candidates.
  • Oversees the administration of all company compensation and benefits programs including local pay practices to ensure compliance and equity within the organization as well as conducts wage surveys of local labor market to determine competitive wage information and formulate recommendations to senior management.
  • Leads site management in understanding and applying all employee relations policies and procedures as well as ensures all investigations and employee actions (such as discipline and terminations) are handled fairly and according to agreed protocol.
  • Leads the development of employees through the effective use and promotion of the MHP (Managing Human Performance) process for goal setting, providing feedback, developing employees and assessing job performance.
  • Provides coaching and training to employees and management for selection and promotion processes, terminations, employee relations, employment law, performance management, and other regulatory required programs, as determined.
  • Administers company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook as well as local practices - recommends changes, additions and/or deletions as may be appropriate.
  • Provides direction and guidance to ensure the appropriate and effective us of the HRIS System including oversight of data in SAP, time entry and payroll process, as well as talent management and development processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree in HR, Business Management or related field preferred
  • HR Certification desired
  • 5+ years Human Resource Generalist or Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) related work experience required.
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to coach and develop leaders at all levels (supervisor to site management)
  • Experience leading the HR Function in a multi-site/location organization is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Labor and Employment regulations
  • Ability to travel 20-25% depending on projects
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days a week - there may be some flexibility with travel
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
