OverviewMicrosoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team builds and operates Microsoft datacenters, which in turn power Microsoft's cloud business. We anticipate and provide capacity for continuous scale, enabling ~30% of Microsoft revenue through Commercial Cloud. The CO+I Engineering team (CO+IE) delivers services, applications, and automation supporting datacenter planning, construction, and operation. We own a large portfolio of services, including workflows that enable predictable, lowest cost datacenter construction, telemetry systems that drive high availability and optimized energy usage, and task and performance management applications that help our operation run as efficiently as possible. CO+I Engineering is a competitive advantage for Microsoft, and an important pillar in its cloud success. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including the Microsoft Azure service portfolio, Microsoft 365, Dynamics, Xbox Live, and Microsoft Live services. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to provide services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. We are looking for a customer obsessed, data driven, Principal Technical Program Manager that posseses collaboration and communication skills, and execution ability to drive Data Center Resource Management system that enables the reservation of space, power and cooling resources for Data center and ensure that compute, storage, and network equipment can be confidently ordered and shipped to a data center to provide customer capacity. You will lead a cross-functional team of world class software engineers, datacenter operators & SMEs, and partner with Azure Engineering teams to define and drive product vision,strategy and execution. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.
ResponsibilitiesPartner with datacenter Operations and CO+I Engineering teams to deeply understand business processes and existing engineering systems and identify opportunities to make the most business impact.Adopt a "product engineering approach" to deliver end-to-end software solutions.Define and own product roadmap, drive planning activities, and partner with engineering and Operations teams to ensure successful delivery and operationalization.Provide regular program updates to Executives and business partners.Define & analyze KPIs to measure product and business success.Establish effective feedback loop with the field to gain insights for continuous product improvement and to drive adoption.Be a force multiplier of the team by driving clarity and generating energy.
