Job Title: Senior Advanced Software Engineer
Company: ACARA Solutions (in collaboration with our client)
Location: Remote/FLEX/HYBRID
Type: Contract-to-Direct Hire

Position Overview:
ACARA Solutions and our client are seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team dedicated to the development and deployment of cutting-edge ground operational systems for the SDA O&I/GMI program. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in satellite communications, ground-to-satellite communication, ground operations, and software engineering principles.

React, Java, Python, Front end is preferred (front & backend is ok)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct requirements analysis, definition, management, and system design under the supervision of the lead systems engineer.
  • Perform functional analysis, performance analysis, and detail trade studies.
  • Participate in systems integration and test (verification), validation, and interface definition studies.
  • Utilize DevSecOps practices and tools such as AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipeline development, and test automation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in missile warning/missile tracking system integration, test, and operations.
  • Adhere to Agile philosophies and processes to ensure efficient project execution and delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in satellite communications and ground operations.
  • Proficiency in DevSecOps practices and tools, including AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipeline development, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with missile warning/missile tracking system integration, test, and operations.
  • Previous experience working in aerospace or defense industries.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of DevSecOps experience with some of the following platforms/tools
    1. AWS
    2. GitLab
    3. Kubernetes
    4. Docker
    5. Jenkins
    6. Ansible
    7. Terraform
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in CI/CD pipeline development
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Test automation
  • Minimum 5 years of Missile Warning/Missile Tracking system integration, test, and operations experience.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree

  • Familiar with Agile philosophies and processes
  • Satellite communications knowledge
  • Ground to Satellite communication knowledge.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the software development life cycle.
