IT Governance Risk Control Analyst

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The primary function of the Associate IT GRC (Governance Risk Control) Analyst is applying analytical knowledge and research skills, as an individual contributor, to formally document and assess technical frameworks associated with Information Security, IT Governance, Risk and Control initiatives. Incumbent will support banking processes in the credit union space as it pertains to the Information Technology and Information Security space(s), and operate in a capacity that develops, maintains, and monitors policies, standards, procedures, and control measures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Associate IT GRC Analyst will:

  • Develop and implement InfoSec & IT policies, standards, procedures, and controls in support of VyStar's business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboratively action internal frameworks to monitor and assess the efficacy of internal controls and business process to ensure that regulatory standards are met, and best practices are carried out.
  • Measure, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of InfoSec & IT controls.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in the remediation actions related to findings.
  • Foster communication and collaboration across InfoSec, IT and business teams to ensure cohesive alignment between VyStar strategic priorities and Safety and Soundness principles.
  • Design, build, implement and manage aspects of Governance, Risk & Compliance processes, including planning, risk assessment, data analysis, reporting, and remediation validation.
  • Focus on information technology, security and risk-based analysis to evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls in supporting the company's IT, security and business processes.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Risk, Compliance & Audit, clients and vendors as the conduit between other technology and security functions and verticals and the related risk, compliance and audit activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related field is preferred, but not required.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • COMPTIA Security+, CC, CGRC certifications are preferred, but not required. Career development plan to include certifications upon hire.

EXPERIENCE

  • 0-2+ years' experience in technical writing, technical project management or risk analytics
  • 0-2+ years of progressive work experience designing moderate to complex business processes, process mapping, working on large-scale process improvement initiatives and business system design.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the identification, evaluation and documentation of process flows, risks and controls.
  • Knowledge of information systems management, IT service management as well as process development and design.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate Information Security & Technology related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with business teams on technology & security-related controls, tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work productively while remote and communicate effectively in a virtual team and on location hybrid work environment.
  • Ability to work within agile and waterfall project methodology.
  • Ability to stay current with new technology.
  • Good understanding in IT Services management and use of maturity and process improvement models
  • Ability to participate in cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Knowledge and experience working with regulatory audits is a plus, though not required.
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of:
    • MS Office Suite
    • MS Sharepoint
    • Azure DevOps (JIRA/Confluence comparable)
