The Director of Project Management is a critical position supporting senior leadership, enabling leaders to execute strategic work while ensuring operational rigor. This role is a part of the Financial Services Technology Top of House Command Center and is responsible for driving horizontal initiatives that support ~1500 associates across the division. The individual in this role will lead the Financial Services Technology (FS Tech) annual business rhythm (annual strategic planning, monthly business reviews, quarterly business reviews, etc); divisional governance processes; strategic initiatives; labor strategy; campus programs; learning and development; associate engagement; and communications.

Candidates should have a passion for technology, strong strategic command, an engaging executive presence, exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, expertise in relationship-building, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. Candidates should be excited about improving the daily lives and development of our engineers and helping leaders advance our strategy at scale.

The candidate will:

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner for our Financial Services Technology leadership team, helping guide the operations and management of the organization. Lead the division's Developer Enablement program.

  • Act as a central point of contact between the Financial Services Technology leadership team, Enterprise Tech leadership and other key partners. Ensure alignment of leaders across the organization.

  • Prioritize and focus leaders in a number of key areas (goals, labor strategy, budget, associate engagement, culture, operational excellence, etc). Aid the leadership team in strategic planning, uncovering critical efficiencies and preventing duplication of effort.

  • Understand the organization's strategy and vision, lead the LT to drive and track goals and priorities. Tackle and solve issues through escalation and articulate the issues that need to be done to elevate the team and allow easy accountability.

  • Assist the leadership team with strategic planning including financial, workplace, and resource planning in collaboration with key partners

  • Create and manage effective, scalable processes to manage operating rhythms. Requires an ability to lead and influence to inject new operational processes to drive executional discipline and excellence. Craft operating routines and regularly participate in team meetings, offsites, and huddles.

  • Demonstrates a proven track record of excellent program management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Driving all phases of project management to include feasibility, definition, planning, prioritization, implementation and close out of projects

  • Partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Working with cross functional teams and influencing others to work toward common goal, regardless of resource and time constraints

General Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to build a team strategy and effectively develop and lead a team of associates in pursuit of top performance

  • Understanding of financial systems and technology processes

  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

  • High degree of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously; prioritizes based on impact and makes difficult tradeoffs to meet deadlines

  • Effective communicator - ability to create clarity amongst diverse groups from team members to stakeholders

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills - ability to establish metrics and utilize data to measure operational efficiency, team health, and partnership effectiveness

  • Asks the tough questions and challenges the status quo

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management

  • At least 3 years of experience managing executive level stakeholders across different business functions

  • At least 3 years of experience working with engineering teams

  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field

  • 5+ years of experience of people management experience

  • 3+ years of experience in strategy development

  • 3+ years of experience in finance or budgeting

  • 3+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence

  • Project Management or Process Management certification (CSM, PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification)
