Job Description
VACO Atlanta has partnered with a leading local healthcare organization in Kennesaw, GA to assist in hiring a skilled Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role will involve ensuring accurate payroll processing, resolving discrepancies, and providing essential accounting support. This is a direct hire, permanent role requiring 100% onsite attendance to start.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and rectify discrepancies in the timekeeping system.
  • Prepare payroll files, accounting records, and schedules for biweekly payrolls.
  • Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Verify and adjust compensation settings in the scheduling/timekeeping system.
  • Participate in payroll audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, administration, or vendors regarding payroll matters.
  • Facilitate and execute month-end closing procedures across all entities.
  • Maintain various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis.
  • Prepare and record monthly journal entries accurately.
  • Reconcile and balance subsidiary accounts, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Uphold the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Generate monthly financial reports for management review.
  • Assist in external financial audits as necessary.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated payroll experience.
  • Sage Intacct and QGenda Time Keeping systems is required.
  • Medical or healthcare industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
