In the role of Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Specialist, we'll count on you to:

  • Support a state TIM Program working directly with Tennessee DOT, Tennessee Highway Patrol and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate and/or support steering committee meetings, TIM working groups, regional and local TIM teams, and after-action reviews across the state of Tennessee
  • Coordinate meeting materials/content/presentation development, develop agendas and meeting minutes and track action items.
  • Identify, gather information and prepare content/presentation for after-action reviews
  • Support, evaluate, and track classroom and hands-on training
  • Support accomplishing TIM Strategic Plan action items
  • Regularly coordinate with multiple stakeholders including emergency responders via email, phone and in-person meetings
  • regularly coordinate with internal team
  • perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • 8 years of field experience (public safety, transportation, or other related field)
  • Knowledge of incident response protocols
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and be on-call as needed
  • Experience working in a team setting with regional coordination
  • Service oriented personality who works well independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong communicator
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to include the use of proper English, diction, grammar and spelling
  • Ability to learn the principles of transportation systems management and operations (TSMO)
  • Passion and commitment to safety
  • Valid driver's license, and an acceptable driver's record under HDR's motor vehicle policy
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • 4+ years' experience in Traffic Incident Management
  • ICS 300/400 Certification
  • National Training Certificate and/or instructor
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Advanced use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and other internal programs
  • Experience in facilitating meetings
  • Experience in adult learning and/ or completion of an instructor development course
  • Law enforcement (traffic team or traffic investigator), fire/EMS, emergency dispatch, or tow experience
  • Associates Degree and/ or Bachelors degree
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office product experience
  • General background-related experience
