About the College/Unit/Department
The Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC) works in underserved high schools throughout Georgia to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students who attend and complete higher education. We help students find their way to college by placing well-trained, recent college graduates in high schools to work one-on-one with students as they navigate the complex college admissions process, including researching college options, completing applications, and applying for financial aid.

Additional Schedule Information
Advisers work regular, full-time hours during the school year, following the high
school/site supervisor's schedule. Advisers will begin service in their assigned
schools in August 2024 following summer training at UGA during the month of July,
and work until May 31, 2025.

Work with high school seniors, providing them with information on the college admissions process, financing college, registering for and taking ACT/SAT exams, and completing college applications

Complete all GCAC reports and projects as assigned. Track, using the College Advising Corps Student GRACE web-based system, all student interactions

supervisor is the Program Director of the Georgia College Advising Corps

Host college fairs and information sessions regarding college admission and financial aid.

Conduct outreach to high school juniors, sophomores and freshmen to build interest and enthusiasm toward college. When possible, participate in extracurricular activities in the school/community in an effort to build relationships with students and parents.
